I've been trying it, but it keeps saying when I try riding the camel that I hit him with my sword, and when I try to fight the trolls, I wave my sword at them but trip over onto my face. it anyone else getting that? I'd start looking into the fi.sp branch of skills, maybe? fi.sp.mounted if you're hitting the camel with the sword? fi.sp.tactics or .weapons if your tripping yourself while swinging the sword?

I think there's no problem hitting the camel. You've rode it anyway, which is what counts (only a problem if you try to ride him again, though). But I still trip when I'm faced with the trolls. Are you sure it is fi.def.dodging you have to use? I've got 30 (bonus 132) and fail. As for fi.sp.tactics and weapons, got 20 (bonus 105) in both.

d**n! This hell of a quest is taking me much longer than many hard ones!
I've upgraded my fi.sp.tactics and weapons to 25 (118 bonus) and even tried with parrying (27 - bonus 123). Don't know what to try now, and no change in the 'you trip'. I'll try more dodge, till getting near the 150 bonus...

you need better skills than these to do the fighting....
fi.me.sword bonus 168 fi.de.dodging bonus 158 fi special weapon bonus 198 fi special tactics bonus 177
these are bonuses, not levels. I 'trip yourself up' too. with these levels. I can ride the camel fine though. (and i'm sure ginger's just waiting for that snog)

I think its parry that you need now.

It's not a dex check, just tried it with bless wich gives me a dex of 12 and still no joy.(unless you need dex over 12? I doubt that!)

I did this and I have no sword or parry and I'm fairly sure I was in dodge response. If it's not your fi.me.whatever and fi.de.whatever I'd guess it's fi.un.grappling.

I have 217 in dodge and still fail the test. Advanced acrobatics, tumbling and vaulting and balancing to around 110. Fi.me.sw at 130 and still fail the fight scene.
are they specifically baggy trousers, or do black baggy trousers work?

Does anyone know where to get the baggy trousers? It's no longer sold in Mrs Cosmopolite's shop...the list goes from A to L, but there are no trousers except for trendy ones.

The store only sells a certain number of items, when they run out you have to wait until it restocks. I have no idea how often that happens, but it would certainly restock after a reboot. I've seen a lot of npcs wear baggy trousers though. I can't remember which ones, but I think they were sailor or scavenger types near ankh-morpork docks or the djel docks.
