This quest has been driving me up the wall!
Indeh-anah in the pyramid says that he's looking for a shiny statue (You can say 'help'' to start the quest)...
So, as I walked past the statue on Pheonix Ave. I though Ah-hah!
But, I can't work out what to do. If you go there during the day, you can see numbers marked on the flagstones, indicating that the statue acts as a sundial...
But, you can't quite see the wings properlythrough "l wings" - you're too far away. So, I thought about standing on the bench, since in the description for the bench, it says that it could probably cope with a weight on it (You standing on it?)
But I can't stand on it! It won't let me!
Am I just muddled up?
Anyone else done this?
Thanks for your time!

on the wrong track. nothing to do with the phoenix statue. first you do the quest with the scarab beetle then this one in the unlocked area.

How is the scarab beetle quest done? I've seen people with them and they look pretty cool.

has to do with the carvings in the room with indeh, and the hieroglyphics in the room 1w. also, with the statue, the sand in the room 2w of indeh looks like it could hide a lot...

to get to 2w of indeh you need to go 1w of indeh and look at the heiroglyphics, you'll need some djelian culture skills for this, then chant the phrase backward.

I've tried this a few times now and still can't get it to work. In the room 1w of indeh I look at the hieroglyphics. Normally I see 'tabmow yrruc', but a few times I have seen 'regdab citsym' (never the two on the same log-on though. always one or the other) Sometimes after I chant it (backwards of course) I get "You intone 'curry wombat' in a timid manner. Wind swirls and gusts around you, nipping at your toes. It eventually subsides, leaving the sand surrounding a little tousled." but other times I get scorpions dropped on my head and get poisoned by them. I've tried the words in different orders, and even tried them still backwards. No matter which happens, though, I never get to go to the room to the west described in previous posts. My djelian culture is 25 90 and my ot.pe is 55 133 (can't think of any other relevant skills) Any ideas all?

dont chant it backwards. chanting something wrong gets you scorpions or nothing. you should try chanting it in every possible manner before posting on this forum. why didnt you try it normally when backwards didnt work?

I did try chanting it different ways. That is why I posted the question. I tried it the way Tyeda suggested, then many other ways, like I mentioned in my post. Each time I tried something different, I tried it several times. No matter what I tried I got one of the two results that I listed. About half of the time I would get wind, and half I would get scorpions. I was hoping that someone knew of a skill check or something different that I could try

Yeah half the time I get scorpions and the other half I get the wind. I'm at a loss.

is it possible to open that secret room again after you've done the scarab quest, i tried chanting the phrase the same way i did when i completed the quest but it won't open again, there's at least one other quest in there that I haven't done yet so that's the only reason i want to open the secret room again.

Things to check: a) Are you speaking Djelian when trying to chant? b) Do you have enough ot.cu.dj to read the heiroglyphs? c) Are you chanting the phrase like you're meant to, or are you interpreting it? d) Do you have enough ot.la.dj.sp to clearly speak the phrase normally? If you fail on this part, you still get the scorpions\wind even though you might be chanting the right phrase.

If you just look closely at the phoenix statue, you can get hints as to its actual use. And when the phoenix statueisn't there, but its just a stone pedestal, its a free ash source for TPA. You just need to be quick.
