I did this quest but it won't let me pick up the pet licence, i got a message saying you fail to get a hold of the licence or somthing like that.

I wasn't burdened, but oddly i tried suing and then it let me pick it up, wierd.

OK, the previous directions were actually to the dwarf bread museum. Here is the proper ones to the bakery. from drum, --> 4w - 1sw - 1nw - 1w- 1nw- 1w - 1nw -1w - 1nw - 1w - 3nw - 1n If you still cant find it, use the discworld street finder : hem.bredband.net/discworld/ (bakery is on cable street) |

Okay I also completed this quest, and now have the tabby cat following me but i didn't get a licence. I searched all over the room as soon as I got the quest but there was nothing else there. I tried typing in 'get pet licence' but there wasn't one in the room.
Also, can I keep this tabby if i don't have the licence?

Pets were rewritten a short while ago to no longer use licences.
If the cat shows up in 'detail pets' then you can keep it.
