Any idea where the hood for the hawk quest can now be found?

Still in the garden like it was. I think it's south of a pond or something. You'll need to pass a stealth and a co.ma.sl check to hood the hawk too. Its a pretty steep one if you aren't a covert user.

Look in each room of the garden - the 9 room thing - look at the bushes in each room, or mabye it's look bush - one will say something's lodged under it.

Also, it's not just 25 co.st.in/co.man.sl-of-hand that does it...

Wotcha one an all I have just done the 'Fluffy Nightbringer' quest and I found that 10 lvls in co.ma.sl was not enough....so I got it to 50 lvls, which gave me a 189 bonus and thats when I managed it. Also a 150 - 175 bonus in co.st.in should be enough. If he starts fighting with you...go down type stop..wait til you get the message you stop fighting...type sneak high or sneak medium, then go back up. Hope this is helpful

do you have to be sneaking when you try and hood it?

I sneaked medium, and popped the hood on his head no probs, with 40 levels o' co.st.in & co.man.sl-of-hand.
