'syntax pull' will help you there. I believe it's 'pull lever <number> on panel'.

For the record, there aren't millions of combinations, there are exactly one million. If you're gonna just use 8-10 there are "only" 729.

Was I supposed to stay in the guild as it blew up? I got the guild to explode...

I was wondering, how much health do you need to survive the explosion, if you manage to blow up the guild of alchemists?

I don't know if this helps but I think the components and proportions for gunpowder are
75% potassium nitrate 15% charcoal 10% sulphur
I hope this helps

I will try it, but I am skeptic... As stated before, there is a ramdom patron, so there is no 'right' answer. The containers don't change their stuff that i know of...
This is is really impossible for me... xD

Okay, just to have an idea: people who've done it, how long did you spend next to the Amalgamator pulling levers? I've been 2 hours and no way...

Do you know if the number of order of the pulls it affects to the quest, i mean. it will be the same pull 8 8 8 9 9 10, that pull 10 8 8 9 8 9??
because if the answer is yes, it will make it a little easier, but if it is no...we could be very old when all of us have it done...

I pulled two combinations ,keeping the same combination both times, one produced a gas which kills people, the other changed me blue/yellow/purple. I used the same order levers, so I'm guessing it's complete randomness. If you keep the same combination, you'll get it (eventually) Incidentally, you need to wait a few moments between trials. (fingers won't let you do it straight away) The really annoying thing is when the guild explodes, and you have to wait for reconstruction work. Some combinations are dangerous, and it's just luck.I think that there can be no real tips here. Perhaps two fingers could help you.

There HAS to be some type of reference in this. The whole "Random reaction for each combination" is a load of.. I setup a trigger alias for the amalgamator using the same combination 50 times over for different combinations with the same effect each 50 times... I tried a different one which after some trial and error turned people different colours and without fail it turned people into different colour 50 times over.
There may be a random factor to every wrong WRONG attempt but I believe something influences the machine... Number of letters in your name? Your join date? A number of possibilities.

Not really. Expert Balancer is easy so long as you track how much weight you have in both the trays.

I've tried this quest several times. I've been invisible, changed colours, produced a yellow toxic gas, knocked unconscious, burned, shocked and confused. I've given up.

I systematically tried every possible combination once (yes, I'm stubborn), and none worked. Some combinations always give the same reaction, some give different reactions. I tried to collate reactions with numbers pressed (ie, does 5, 7, 8 + 3 other levers always turn you blue?) but couldn't come up with anything. I think shockwaves may be the combinations that can randomly be explosions instead, but I'm just guessing. They seem the most violant and most similar to the desires result. Maybe someone (me, if I get in a masochistic mood) should try focusing on shockwave combos to see if they ever get a real BOOM.
Stupid quest I think. Might as well reward people after a random time for standing still and picking their nose for hours and hours on end.
It has potential to be a lot better (while still being fiendishly difficult), but that would require actual effort by AM creators. I think everyone's better off pretending this atrocity doesn't exist.
