You can guard up when you have them in the water, if you're good enough they can't break through and drown.

I'm working on a mission where I have to determine which ingredients will cure a poison, then concoct a broth with those ingredients. I've figured out the ingredients, but which skill is used to concoct the broth? cr.med.tr.poi? cr.cook.cu? something else?

So far I'm really enjoying these missions. My skills are incredibly lousy but I try anyway. In most cases I can at least figure out what skills I need to improve, but before I blow a bunch of exp I wanted to pick some brains. I managed to concoct the broth but evidently my research beforehand turned up completely incorrect ingredients. I'm guessing this would be cr.med.tr.poi? Anyone know or have a better guess? You look muscle pain up in a children's book on the effects of poison, and are fairly sure it can be treated with nightingales nest. But can you trust your source?
A servant comes in and takes the potion from you. After examining the potion critically for a while, he says "For Sek's sake, Isolde-san, next time do your research properly - this potion wouldn't help an arthritic wasp." The servant stomps out through the door. Your mission is a failure. You toss your chit into the bin.

Hmm. Now that I've reread what I posted it does seem very likely cr.med.tr.poi, so I'll work on beefing that up a bit.

Yay! I just got another one of these and I trained up my cr.me.tre.poi first. I could only afford getting it to bonus 134 but that seemed sufficient.
Now if only I could get my stealth high enough so I can sneak into the other family mansions.

I got a chit that asked me to alter the plans of the Hong family in the war strategy room as they relate to the Sung family. When I try to do this I get "How do you expect to be able to alter plans when you can't read them?" According to Kefka's website, 60 lvls of spoken and written is usually enough. I have 64 in written and 61 spoken. Someone told me that it might be fi.sp.tactics and ad.direction so I got both of these up to a bonus of 169 and 165 respectively.
Anyone have any ideas? I've had the mission for two days now and it doesn't seem like it's going to expire but I would like to focus my energies in the right direction.
Thanks!
