i found a hole near the big rock in the middle of the desert after going down a couple of times i ran in to two desert lions. after running away i went passed them down one more time and found a room that after searching i found a crack in the wall and it says somthing along the lines of you see a crack but you can not see what lies beond it looks like you could squeeze in to the crack. anyone know anything about this?

If you manage to get all the way in, there is a dead ambiguous pazuma, or however you spell it. You need a photograph of it for one of the Oasis quests.

Could you describe where abouts you found that place? I think the description on the website is from when the deserts where still pretty small?

Well if that cave with the puzuma is there, and the basilisk is still around, they're covered. But I don't know where you'd get a picture of a chimera(spelling?)

if you can't do the pest controller or whatever it was called then you can't get a pic of the chimera i think. i am not sure but i think you need the pest controller quest to get to it.

I wonder if some things have been moved about.
I pointlessly wandered into an oasis tent the other day, and this odd fellow kept asking for help. When I tried talking to him or asking him what was wrong, if he needed help (the usual quest info getters), etc. I got no response.
I stuck around and listened to the bugger babble, then he said "I don't dare hunt a basilisk. I'd never survive." and "If I do not have some evidence of rare creatures soon, I will be fired."
Now, I'm guessing that you'd still need to get the camera, but it would appear that this may be the place to deliver it too.

Three or four times I've killed it using various methods. Still no creator card.

I killed it once early last year, one huge bloody battle which left my wizard with 3 or so HPs at the end. I have the log somewhere. I was all over the place like Rocky Graziano Anyway, after all that no card, nothing!
I wonder if this is still a quest?

I have tried taking photos with the camera twoflower gives you and giving them to the zoologist but no joy, he refuses them

You have to use the camera being sold in one of the tents. I think it has been removed, oddly enough I still got some of those boxes in my vault. Sounds buggy.
