Iirc, there's a room with an arena and a gong. When you enter the arena, you'll face a warrior champion, that's the one you'll need to kill. I don't remember the details, but you can't use spells or rituals on him. Have fun!

GL 250 and no magic or rituals etc. Just based on your fighting skills. You can pick flowers from the mansion to sniff for health midway in the fight, but that's about all.

What about magical shields? Are they removed before the fight? Could someone who's done this quest write down their fightingbonuses they had at the moment they did the quest. Would be nice to know if you're going to challenge him

IIrc, if you have priest/magic shields, it's considered cheating and the champion won't fight you when you challenge him. Good luck.

Yeah, the reward for that quest is the lion paws. Is there anyone on this board who has actually done this quest? I would like to know what bonuses you need to defeat him. Also what defense (dodge, parry or block) you should focus on since magic shields doesn't work.

why does it say on site that you can use JHSD if magic doesn't work?

Because it is full of crap. Unless JHSD can be cast by whoever you're with at the time and hit him. He's not that tough if you use smart tactics. Go to wimp mode at the start of the fight, have a dozen or so purple roses on you for healing. Have decent fighting skills. You'll be fine.

What do purple roses do?

Heal you. Wimp mode at the start and then switch to offensive? I don't do much melee-fighting so tactics is very confusing for me.

With 380+ melee and 370+ dodge he still makes mincemeat out of me. Hp somewhat over 2000. I was in neutral tactics, dodge response.
And purple roses are very slow in healing.

Is it possible to run away from the fight if you are getting beaten somehow? I'd like to try this out...but lives are getting expensive
