Hi there. I was thinking about this, bur after meditating a lot, reading some pages (probably, outdated in this info) and talking with players, I'm... even more confused! Whar kind of rearrangements would you propose for a wizards? At the moment, my mind is on something like this: int 17, str 13, dex, 13, con 11, wis 11. It's quite conservative. I'd take more wis, but they've told me it is necessary for some spells. Better str would be nice for carrying components, but don't know were to get the points out of...

It isn't the easiest to rearrange as a wiz, I've got a 40 day old wiz that never rearranged and I'm quite happy with it, to be honest. Never could decide. Know this didn't help but good luck in finding a decent rearrange anyhow!

My advice is dont. Then when you think you know what to re-arrange to don't again. Eventually you will have all the skills to be a good wizard, you are probally guild maxed with a good EHA and Pragi by now. Oh, also floating a heavy metal shield. Now you can really start thinking about your re-arrange. If you load your skills onto here skills.gothmudders.com/ you can play about with re-arranges to see what the changes would be. Before I did my re-arrange (at a very very old age) It dawned on me that I could always advance a skill to make up for any negative impact due to the re-arrange but I could never make myself stronger. Before my re-arrange I was always burdened and could never carry all the spell components I wanted. I therefore decided increased strength was in order. My current stats are now: Constitution ... 11 Intelligence ... 15 Wisdom ......... 9 Dexterity ...... 13 Strength ....... 17 I am still burdened a lot of the time, but it is with loads of spell components. In fact I am thinking about dropping wisdom to 8 and bringing strength upto 18 Just my 2 ptascpis worth

Needing more strength was the reason I rearranged, also. I used the calculators at www.geocities.com/caithster/ to make sure my gp regen rate wouldn't suffer from my rearrange. There is also a nice Skill/Stat relationship table there.

Wizard rearranges seem to vary more than most other guilds. I'd recommend going through both Gothmudders and Caithness' site in tandem for each character/alt you intend to play much before rearranging. Gothmudders doesn't get enough credit in this respect. As an example, wizards from the Gothmudders 'top 15' lists for all wizard specs, with the additional criteria of having some idea of how to use a polearm (listed by GL in their spec at time of posting): | CON | DEX | INT | STR | WIS | | Sined | 10 | 10 | 18 | 15 | 12 | Arcane | 8 | 11 | 17 | 17 | 12 | Sekiri | 11 | 10 | 23 | 13 | 8 | Falkentyne | 8 | 14 | 17 | 16 | 10 | Talen | 10 | 14 | 20 | 13 | 8 | Saaur | 8 | 14 | 19 | 14 | 10 | Aznin | 9 | 13 | 20 | 15 | 8 | Gahers | 9 | 11 | 21 | 13 | 11 | Langrisser | 13 | 13 | 13 | 13 | 13 | Trident | 11 | 13 | 15 | 17 | 9 | Daemonfrost | 14 | 12 | 18 | 13 | 8 | Mizzou | 10 | 11 | 17 | 18 | 9 | Hirroshi | 11 | 9 | 20 | 15 | 10 | | MEAN | 10.2 | 11.9 | 18.3 | 14.8 | 9.85 | ROUNDED | 10 | 12 | 18 | 15 | 10 | STDEV | 1.86 | 1.71 | 2.63 | 1.79 | 1.72 |
Given that your rearrange (give or take one point) lasts you 6 months or more, researching helps perhaps even more than waiting.
