ivy and spider bracelets

I've seen quite a few people wearing ivy leaves bracelets and spider bracelets. I've asked where people got them and most said they were gifts. Does anyone know if these are items you get from quests or a certain number of logins?

They might have been gifts from the hogfather, to get gifts from the hogfather you have to be logged on on hogfather day, it used to be christmas day in the real world, but I heard it had been changed to the hogfather day in the books.

The gifts are usually items you can't normally get, like certain pets, toy items, jewlery.
