Scythe Quest

I've done this quest before but I cannot seem to get the metal, I type search in the room and then I drop the metal into the rubble and I keep doing it. What's going on?

Sounds like you might be too burdened to pick it up.

I'm working on forging it. I've got the listed requisite 20 levels of weaponsmithing, but it says:
"You try for hours to forge the metal into something useful, but you just are not good enough at being a smith yet. Good thing you can forge metal twice, eh?"

I'm guessing it's more bonus based, than actually on the level, I'm currently at 113 bonus, and will post my progress here as I teach myself the skill, and let you know the bonus levels before and after I make the level that allows me to do it.

Umm, nevermind, it was because I wasn't holding the hammer ;D
I guess being 'not good enough as a smith' was the wisdom part of smithing and knowing that you actually have to hold the hammer in order to smith.

how many levels of smithing did it take to figure that one out?

Actualy, you do require more than 20 levels of sm.bl.we.

I currently have 27 levels and can't do it yet (and yes I have hold of the hammer)

I learnt these levels without upgrading crafts in any iother way by learning from another player, so maybe that is why, who knows.

Don't know... I got it without any problems at lvl 26...

It's not level that matters, its bonus. At those levels you are getting about 4 to 5 bonus points per level depending on your stats, so please if you're going to post stuff post your bonuses, not your levels

Alright then. My level 26 bonus is 119. Quite low really (no stats rearrengement), so you shouldn't have much of a problem.

The quest no longer uses cr.smi.bla.weapons, but cr.smi.bla.tools now. The bonuses needed have stayed the same. (For reference I had a 127 bonus)
