Ok, so this might not be a recognised quest in it's self but it is for me, you see I have just passed the cutoff point in the game where my newbie talker channel is gone. I have discovered how to chat, tell, kill, fence and generally get along. Next I need to know how to store stuff, I don't want to walk around with a full backpack. There must be a safe place somewhere.
I have opened a bank account, so that's taken care of
TIA

What you need is a vault. Seek out Nella or Jonas in AM, Will in Ohulan Cutash, Free Sitting Birds in Bes Pelargic, Thella in Djelibeybi or, ummm... The guy in Genua... Think his name is Phillipe. In AM, it's A$7.50 to open an account, and 30p per visit.

They are also marked on Airks maps as vaults. Just in case you need more directions.

Great! Thanks Ok, I opened a vault account but I stayed in there too long and got kicked out. Lost the 2 satchels I had dropped on the floor as well... Now I have some items I need to know what they are, or at least if they are magical One is a medallion with a book on it the others are rings Is there a place that will or person that will do this? I bought a yellow Light ring, how do I make it work, or is it on all the time? m

Is it a stone medallion you are referring to?
What kind of rings?
Yellow stone rings generate light when you wear them. They use gp. If you run out of gp they stop working. To restart them, just remove the ring and wear it again.
Why didn't you just go back into the vault to get your satchels?

Also, it is common courtesy to be as quick as you can in vaults, getting thrown out because you were in too long doesn't sound good, as people could (possibly) have been waiting.

Now I know these things
I did have a lot of stuff in the 2 satchels I dropped on the floor, nothing too important just scavanged oddments that I was taking to Jim at the Theves Guild for fencing. Could have been worth 10 bux at most, I hope... Now I have a backpack for "keeping stuff" and a satchel for "fencing stuff". As soon as it's full I hoike off to Jim and use the get all command
Learning, learning,learning.....

You should read up on aliases, my friend.

You should read up on aliases, my friend. Oh Yes... Printed that one out Got this one so far... get $arg1:coins & every jewellery$ from corpse $arg2:1$ next is to get all from satchel and fence it and say yes too... Is there an "alias list"?? That would be a bonus..... Learning, learning, learning.....

Far too many times, I've accidentally sold something I wanted to keep by not listening to what Sol, Jim or the others said to me. An alias would increase that possibility. An alias just to get the stuff out and fenced is fine, but the confirmation should be manual. Also, fences have a limit of ten items, last I knew. If you have more in your pack, there's a good chance you'll be standing there fumbling stuff while Sol is working on the first ten things. /me Misses the days when the number of held items was determined by your skills

Well if it was something you really want to keep, you can "keep <item>" then you can't fence it by accident.

Is it a stone medallion you are referring to? Yes, on a string I discovered the appraise command This is what it says It is made of some unidentifiable material and appears to be a piece of jewellery If it was special would that command reveal it? silver So, they make light all the time you are wearing them? Good tip as I was wearing it all the time. Did, gone.....

Stone Medallion is used in the Knowledge Seeker quest.
If it is a tarnished silver ring, it is used in the Hillshire Tourist quest, otherwise, no special uses for standard silver rings.
