If you kill Mr. Tulip (which i havent done being a newbie and mr. Tulip being built like a house) he has a black briefcase on him.
I knicked it off his corpse since no one else touched it and it needs a three number combantion.
Does anyone know it? or whats inside it?
(it says theres a golden light coming from inside, gold bars maybe?)

I couldn't find a combination that worked. Could be just to wind you up. On the other hand..... ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

As far as I know, you cannot open it. I've heard of a couple of people (one a Playtester) taking a few hours and trying EVERY possible combination, only to find it won't open.
And yeah, it's a Pulp Fiction reference. In the movie, it's never made clear what's in the briefcase, which has a combination of 666 if I recall correctly - it's something Tarantino put it there to spur film geek speculation. If you follow Pin & Tulip around, you'll hear fairly humorous dialogue, in a similar vein as the Jules & Vincent characters in PF.

It was a golden hotdog, you know sausage inna bun. It took ages to make a plaster cast of it, in the end a sculpturist was paid to make a clay model, then it was cast in alluminum, then covered in gold leaf to make it look solid gold.

Ah yes... in movie/scripting parlance, the "weenie" (thing everyone is after). Nice in-joke there ;D

Ahaha, weenie, very good one.
Is that a UK term? I am not familiar with it. But a good joke there.
I always hear the term Macguffin, ala Hitch, which is blatant in its popularity as the object everyone is after, although it's never made clear what it is since it doesn't really matter. The chase after it is the important thing.
I always liked the film geek theory that the briefcase contained Marcellus Wallace's soul. Quite interesting and amusing to hear the reasoning behind that.

I'd like to hear more of this. Basically it involves the fact that the contents of the briefcase glows, the number of the combination was 666 and the Band-Aid at the base of Marcellus' skull(apparently there's some arcane biblical reference that this is where the soul is taken from the body). There's a bit more to it (Marcellus had made a deal with the devil for his soul and the deal went bad. Big-Brained Brett and his buddies are actually servants of the devil. hence the 'divine intervention' with the bullets not hitting Jules and Vincent whilst they were retrieving the briefcase). You can read more here: The Straight Dope on Pulp FictionN.I.

Memorable Quotes from Pulp Fiction (1994)
Butch: Will you hand me a towel, tulip? Fabienne: Ah, I like that. I like tulip. Tulip is much better than mongoloid

i would just like to say that this is indeed oepnable, but i some sort of Uber quest, i got the case off of the corpse of tulip when i was a afew days in and a creator on his alt told me that it was indeed openable, (i tlaked to him earlier w/ noob questions as well, as well as feedback on the system). try saying "combination" near tulip, he gets a mite sensitive, and says something about mr. cryspohase, so i'm wondering where the big troll cromeboss is. all i know is that the creator told me that "you will no longer be considered a newbie" if you can figure it out. possibly you have to find crysophase but i'm not sure, just wanted to add to this onld thread - thanks

You will no longer be considered a newbie when you realise not to believe everything creators tell you perhaps? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
