Hi, are there any tips for detecting the alignment of NPCs? From what I've gathered so far there is a spell & a ritual for it, but I can't use either. I'm trying to get an evil alignment and it seems harder than it should be as most things are either evil or neutral.
Thanks.

If you're fighting priests (in Ankh-Morpork at least) try saying the names of gods in front of them. They don't react to all of them. Just "say Gapp Sek Gufnork" should give you a result though. The priests will be aligned according to their god about 95% of the time.

You can also just look at them if your morporkian isn't great, you should be able to tell which god they follow from the type of shield they have. Off the top of my head:
sek: flames hat: feathers fish: slimy cloak sandelfon: dust gap: robes gufnork: fluff pishe: ?
If you want to change alignments quickly you can shatter relics, for an evil alignment shatter pishe, gufnork or gap. Some npcs carry them and player shops sell them. You can also try stealing them, most places are OK, but don't steal in AM unless your a thief.
An easy way to become evil from fighting npcs is to head to the terrains outside AM and fight the chipmunks and rabbits. Depending on your combat skills you can give horse groups a try as well.

thanks for all the tips! i was able to get some of these ideas from other players on the mud, but i'm trying to get as evil as possible so i can kill for money for a while (the npcs with money tend to be evil), so the more ideas the better.
