i n the quest in lancre involving the text from wyrd sisters and the copper stick, the soda lump, the soap flakes, the washboard and the brush, has anyone figured out how to properly complete the second part of the quest, where the person scatters the soda and the soap, and then says the text? i have gotten stuck with that part every time, is there something specific you have to do?

Have sufficient magic bonuses in the skills needed. I tried it and had all the syntax right and couldn't do it due to insufficient magic skills on the other 2 with me.

what skills are needed for the second part of the quest? we had the first part right, and passed the skill checks, as i got the message that i was supposed to do something next, and i think i got the soda and soap right with scatter soda, soap because we saw a face appear for a moment in the pot, but when i said the line from the book, nothing happened.

nothing more than 200 bonus, definitely. I had 190 in most of them and did it fine a few times.

OK, we followed all the instructions from the discworld site. Everything went right, the demon comes out, talks to us, paralyzes us, then goes back in saying something about not calling it again until we have more backbone?
No quest title, no card, nada!
When it asked us what we wanted to know, were we supposed to ask it a question, if so, does it have to be the one from the book?
P.S. for those that are trying, Once person 1 lights the fire, each step, the right person will get a que, like: "you feel like you should do/say something" as long as everything goes right, they will keep coming. As soon as someone messes up (like doing something before their que) they stop.

We had the same problem as you, nemo. Practiced it 3 or 4 times to no avail... I don't exactly remember what the solution was, but I think that the clue is that the one (of the three) with the better stats has to 'stare' the demon. After this, you get the quest. He also has to be the one to light the fire in the first place.

managed to do this quest, anyone know what the orb you get as an item reward does? This small orb of glass, filled with a misty, green smoke, which swirls mysteriously and conceals its core from gazing eyes. It is just large enough to fit perfectly in a cupped hand, but looks very fragile, suggesting squeezing it maye not be a very good idea. What shaking it would accomplish is anyone's guess. its glass is uneven and the gas inside is smoky green. It has the hazy octarine sparkle of a magical talisman.

You can use it with the spell Floron's Fabulous Mirror.
